![]() Getting married puts plenty of weight on your shoulders. There are so many different aspects you have to plan and there are so many decisions to make. Part of all of that is the rehearsal dinner. Who plans it, where do you have it, and what does it entail? There are so many questions and so little time. First of all, who plans it? Well, for this informal dinner after the wedding rehearsal, the groom’s mother is probably the best candidate to take this little chore over. The bride’s mother is off helping her, while the groom’s mom might not be as utilized. If it is ok with her, let her plan this part. It should be at a place where the wedding party can get to know each other better before the actual ceremony. Whether it is at a home or out to a restaurant, it should be a comfortable place where you can relax and enjoy the evening before the big day. If it is being held at a home, then you should have games set up in an attempt to create a friendly and easygoing atmosphere for your guests to converse and have fun. But wherever it takes place, you want to make sure that you take this time to toast your wedding party. Let them know how much you appreciate their help in creating your day the best it could possibly be. Perhaps you have out of town guests that are not familiar with the area and won’t have much to do the night before. Should you invite them? Of course you do not have to. However, if you would rather them not be at the actual rehearsal or the dinner, maybe you could plan the dinner a little early in the afternoon/evening and then have a get together later on where they are free to come and enjoy the company as well. You want them to feel included, but it is ok not to invite them to the actual dinner or rehearsal itself. Wherever you have it, be sure to keep in mind that this is the time to thank your wedding party. Let them know how far your appreciation stretches and make it a fun time while you are at it.
